Frantically she asked everyone, "What should I say?!"
"The truth?" the desert man's slow smile held a touch of wolfish sadism. "You're the wife of an ice farmer, prospecting to the limits of your claims. You've been out of touch for weeks. You heard them on your buggie's homemade radio. You want to talk. You want news of Victoria town, and as you're the curious, talkative type, you also want to find out out who they are, where they are going and what they are doing out here near your precious prospect... Should I chew it finer or can you handle that?" His eyes were parsing the landscape even as he rattled out specifications, trying to squeeze advantage out of their own increasingly unconfortable position.

[sblock=OOC]Alright, so we're the Ridge Road and the megacrawler and escort is down on the Elysium Road. I take it from previous comments that the megacrawer's expected way to Nice passes through the Ridge road (?).

If so, is there a way to go around the incoming convoy without being seen (side canyons/side pass, one big (series of) ridges/hills on the edge of the crater that we could circle around, keeping the convoy on the other side), or maybe a place where we could hide while they pass us by (down the crater? in a dead-end crevice we passed previously?). Something like that?[/sblock]

OOC: This (not really to scale) drawing should help.

uc

Note: Distance between the group's caravan (Black) and the Mega Crawler and Escorts (white) is about half a mile.

Elysium road could be considered to be a multilane freeway with 6 lanes in each direction. Nice Road and the "Ridge Road" has 2 lanes in each direction (plus a wide median).

Without off-roading, there is no way the mega crawler can travel on the road toward's Nice. That mean's the easiest (and most time consuming option) for them would be to head to Victoria Town first.

The Ottoman stays put, awaiting for further orders. Apparently the "Sneak in and kill people" option was a no-go anymore. Somehow, Sahid felt a little sad, but then he shakes his head, and focus on what was going on.

OOC: I was hoping that Padreigh would have posted during the last week or so, but alas, it appears he is still bogged down by work.

The Ottoman glances towards the Heavy Crawler and notices that James seems to be locked in heavy concentration and is silently mouthing words in an unrecognizable language.

"Seems you have only one "sorceror" at your disposal Seif, James seems to be... concentrated in something else at the moment. What would you have me do?" comments Sahid.

Seif shouted down from the Beast's shoulder, a slight frown on his brow, "Knowledge is yours, Ottoman. I can only point the way." He tried not to let it pass his lips, but a barb of puzzled impatience still managed to twine about the words as he said them, to colour the blue of his eyes: they both spoke the same language, but clearly - clearly - they were not undestanding each other! Still, time was short, and the man seemed to deal mostly in water magics, so: "A haze? To hide us? Moisture on the vehicles maybe? So dust clings and we become the desert?"

[sblock=OOC]Voda, you have an Obscure 12 power I believe? Did you see this post?[/sblock]

"Indeed," replied the Ottoman from below. He began to move his hands, forth and back, forth and back. Each time, water from the air moisture condensed around him, until he was surrounded by bubbles of water, that he sent drifting over the vehicles. Once the bubbles were dispersed around the caravan, The Ottoman outstretched his arms violently, and the bubbles exploded in a burst of steam. Mist covered the place...

"Uh," Deezy stammers into the radio, trying to improvise, "We're on a pilgrimage? And we saw your huge machine and basically...we just want to make sure you're friendly because it's looking like we might cross in front of you. You guys look like you could take on all of Victoria Town and win with that thing, lemme tell you." She laughs nervously.

"So. That's not what you're...I mean, you wouldn't really do something like that right?"

As the groups speak to each other, Deezy could hear some faint garbled chatter between the various members of the approaching caravan as it slowly nears the junction.

*Crackle* Odyssey Look Out, this is Escort Lead, do you have a visual on 'Cheesy One? *Crackle* Unable to confirm. There's a too much haze beyond that landslide on that road. *Crackle* This is Escort Two, permission to investigate road? *Crackle* Denied. The ridge maybe too unstable. We will alert all escorts if the situation changes. *Crackle*

A laugh could be heard on the radio. "No, ma'am. However, we are adequately equipped to protect Odyssey's crew and her cargo from wasteland raiders. However, our heading will take us past Victoria Town. If you do not mind my questioning, where is the your pilgrimage's destination?"
