[M&M2e] Red Sands Chronicles

"The Spider God mentioned a game for your daughter," pointed out Seif, cautiously optimistic. "Games take time, as do preparing expeditions to the City of Death; we may be able to catch them." Turning to the always vice-chairman, "Shall I try tracking the land borne attackers from here, lord, or do we strike out *now*?" It's clear that he strongly favors the later.

<Response Burroughmeister?>

OOC: I vote for for option 2, myself. :)

"If they know we're coming, we can't surprise them," Deezy surmises. "So the faster we can get to them, the less time they have to prepare."

"Then we shall make haste. Comrades, load Sister Klatta's unit and rotate drivers. Spotters keep your eyes open for an ambush." Lord Burroughmeister turned to board a crawler but was stopped by Aeaxeos. "Yes, Brother Spartan?"

I am unable to travel further with your local's caravan as a result of this settlement being in an obvious state of emergency. In accordance to Article 26, section 72, subsection 21, paragraph 3, clause b of treaty of Erebus of 361 After Cataclysm, I am required to oversee the protection of this settlement until it's defensive capabilities are deemed to be sufficient to the standards set forth by the Spartan High Command. Until the citizens of this settlement are have cured of their aether poisoning, and I am able to give their defenses a full assessment, I may not leave.

"I was afraid this might happen." The vice-chairman gave Aeaxeos a salute. "May the blue star shine upon your path."

"May all your journey be lawful."

OOC:

*I should have emailed Blackrat to have him make up a Spartan farewell and dialog for this. I hope I did Aeaxeos justice.

Next post I will set you on your path. What exactly are your plans? Ie. stealth? Off roading? etc.

Seif gave him a short parting nod, respect for another warrior, and that was that.

"I will take balloon duty. Capture and information raid." His hard blue eyes travelled over those present, "Agreed?"

[sblock=The plan]Seif wants to follow the elder's direction to the approximate location of the hideout, then 1. Try to spot where they have set up their look-out post for the road approach (I'm assuming they have one AND hoping that the balloon will allow Seif to spot them before they spot us) and send the PCs on a surprise strike there. Failing that, 2. Spot the hide-out itself and evaluate from there.[/sblock]

Brian Shaughnessy

"My abilities let me see more than a ... normal person," Brian says, hesitating to make the distinction. "Though I recall Deezy had some goggles which worked similarly, so that might make you more comfortable. Either way, if we want intel, we should use the widest sense range we can manage."

Deezy nods happily, like a little red-headed puppy in human form.

"My goggles let you see with sound," she boasts. "The imaging unit was part of some old military helmet...it was pretty much all that was left. I spent a week trying to find the frequency it was made to work with. But now it works like a charm. As long as you don't hit it too hard...the emitters get out of whack pretty easily. Anyway...you can see in pitch dark, or through smoke and dust...great for windstorms."

"You are more valuable in the Beast, Sestrika." And safer as well. The honorific he hadn't decided on before he spoke, but it felt right - ever since the air-locked room - and so he simply left it there.

<Response Deezy?>

A nod to Shaughnessy then, the unseen corners of his lips slowly pealing from the teeth in that dark, self-destructive smile of his: Will I be able to stop myself from pushing you over the railings? Won't it be interresting to find out...

Barring further disagreement, he will jump into the wiry undercarriage of the small two-man craft and order the firing-off of the winch, catapulting dirigible GM1013 into the cold, blustery heights of the martian dawn. Up to Brian if he can scramble aboard in time. :)

OOC: Seif ready to go!
OOC: By the way,Relique, I'm assuming we skipped a day (hence thre "dawn" part), as otherwise it's getting to be a very long day indeed?

"I was afraid of that," Brian mutters. He runs to keep up with Seif, wondering when he left his sense of self-preservation behind...

"Aww," complained Deezy inarticulately. Then, after a quick loll of her head, she snapped back to and asked brightly, "What's a 'sestrika?'"
