Round 26
OOC: Good practice for me, here on grappling.
Somac struggles with the cold scaly fishman, sand getting in his clothes and hair. Unable to quickly draw his dagger (failed grapple check), he tries to get his hands on the creature's head. Fishlike slime prevents him from getting a grip. (failed again). The creature continues to bare down with its teeth, ripping through his leather protection, simutaneously it brings up his clawed feet and kicks at his stomach. One of the feet slips up under his studded leather and delivers a deep bloody gash into his midsection. Somac feels his guts escaping from his skin. (12 pts - critical rake dmg. Somac reduced to 4 hps. Quite unlucky this round for him.)
Charlyn's morningstar misses his foe. Nurlan moves to the mouth of the cave and sets for a charge; no sahaugins are close by. Jezibel pulls at the rope, dragging the diminuative Irene several steps forward. She is trying to see around Nurlan and Rinaldo. "Let's go!" she hisses. "We've got horses up behind that hut!"
Ashnar fires again, and misses again. Rinaldo steps out to aid Tor, and stabs deeply into a sahaugin's leg (4 pts). Tenebrynn charges at the closest sahaugin, but his luck runs out and the sahaugin sidesteps his swing. Tor slams his chain into the one Rinaldo just struck, and drops it to the bloody sand.
Tenebrynn's opponent drops its crossbow and rips into the elf with claws and teeth, but Tennebryn steps back and avoids the assualt. Charlyn's opponent does likewise, and clips him with a sharp talon (2 pts) Two others move up from the shore and fire at Nurlan and Ashnar, both miss. Another moves up to aid Tor's opponent. Rinaldo avoids the tooth and claw attack, but Tor takes a gash in the shoulder (4 pts)
