Roughly how many words were KB Books A & B?

Between 20,000 & 29,000. On average, a typical page will contain 500 to 800 words, depending on the font, margins, art, etc.

BTW, haiiro; after reading your fine review, and knowing you are interested in the subject, I would enjoy reading your submission greatly. ;)

Thanks -- I'm definitely considering it. :)

Looking over your guidelines, I thought of another question (one that might also be of interest to others reading this thread): what does, "All submissions become property of Mad Kaiser Games™ and will not be returned" mean, exactly?

For instance, let's say I submit something of mine that I think would make a neat PDF, but you don't wind up accepting it. At that point, have I signed the rights to it over to you -- or does the boilerplate in your WG just mean you won't be sending it back, and it's still mine in the legal sense?

Thanks in advance.

If you send a submission, the paper or computer file becomes my physical property, but remains your intellectual property. If it's not accepted, it won't be printed. If I want to print it, you will be contracted, recieve credit for your work and paid, even if only twelve words make it into a book.

I hope that makes things more clear. :)

I emailed you my submission a couple of minutes ago -- if for some reason you don't receive it, please let me know. :)

Pardon my newbieness, but...

I'm still not quite clear what you're looking for; I've read the submission guidelines twice now, and while I have an idea as to the length of the submission, I have no idea what the content is supposed to be. Since the upper limit seems to be 2,000 words, I'm guessing it's not a new PDF supplement you're after; however, the guidelines only suggest that the prospective writer might have some "flavor text" that he or she wants to submit...

Is Mad Kaiser looking for "flavor text", or something else?

A good submission is one that may not be a subject we can use, but demonstrates your writing abilities. These are prefered, because in the limited field of Role-Playing Games, authors may often feel their work has been copied. If you are afraid your ideas would be hijacked, please do not submit any work.
