Madison, WI cheap game stuff and books

A book store in Madison, Wisconsin is going out of business/consolidating. The name of the store is More Books and it is on State Street, near the intersection of Johnson Street.

I went in to buy some paperbacks, and they have a whole pile of sci-fi/fantasy paperbacks, but I was surprised by a big stack of game stuff. Some 2e, a bunch of stuff for older games, and several boxes of old Dragons and White Dwarfs. Someone could probably find some gems, and everything was 60% off their already used prices. I got 3 paperbacks for 6$.

Another book store lost from State Street ..... I hope the new Blue Dog Games store will do better.

OK, i'm cheating here by juxtaposing two different people's comments. Sorry--i need to rant.

You know, if y'all shopped there when they weren't going out of business, maybe they wouldn't be [going out of business].

Ok, rant over. More Books (formerly Alternate Realities, formerly More Books), has been a good source of used gaming books for a decade, and used to be the best place for used RPGs around (heck, i've had better luck finding obscure stuff there than through Crazy Egor's--Alternate Realities had two copies of The End when Crazy Egor's had been looking for a copy for quite some time). It was also one of the best sources for scifi, fantasy, and horror in the region. But then Maureen left, and it just hasn't been the same, for RPGs or SF. The "other half", Avol's Books, is still one of the best used bookstores in the region.

Oh, for used RPGs, you should be going to Frugal Muse on Mineral Pt. Rd. if Avol's isn't planning on buying RPGs any more.
