This is a work in progress, the idea behind it is to keep magic at full throttle while allowing more intrigue, deception, normal wars and travel adventures at any level, especially high levels.
BTW, anything that I forget to mention please assume standard Wizard rules.

Mage

Hit Dice: d6
Skill points: 3 + Int bonus
Alignment: Any
Armor and Weapon Proficiency: Mages are proficient with all simple weapons and with light armor. Mages do not suffer arcane spell failure while casting spells of his spell list in light armor.
Class Skills: Concentration (Con), Craft (Int), Decipher Script (Int), Knowledge (all) (Int), Profession (Wis), Ride (Dex), and Spellcraft (Int).

Spells: The Mage is considered to have mastered all spells he learned that are 2 spell levels below the highest spell level he has access to. E.g. A Mage lvl 11 has access to 4th level spells, and spells of the 2nd level or lower are considered mastered for him.

Spell Revision Log:

Polymorph: Max HD = CL-1 or subject’s HD-1, whichever is lower. Max 25HD.
Flame Missile: as per the 3.0 Ed Flame Arrow.
Protection vs <Align>* & Magic Circle: gives +6 to resist mind control/influence and a caster level check for suppression.
See Invisibility: allows caster level check to see each creature invisible, automatic for unattended objects.
Planar Binding series: allow another form of casting, contacting the being to strike a deal without bringing it first. If deal is accepted a binding magical contract is formed and the being is brought to the presence of the caster.
Remove Curse: All remove spells allow a caster level check to remove the effect, if failed cannot retry for 24h. Same applies to neutralize poison.
Scrying (greater): familiar subjects only, and without the Will save penalty for familiarity.
Antimagic Field: does not affect effects from caster level above 25, epic or those created by deities.
Silence: subjects affected by entering the effect area can also save.
Disintegrate: works on inanimate objects only.
