Magic and Monsters of Rokugan?

Those book have a very japanese feel. So if you are more interested in chinese/india/korean feel, you should look for other publisher (there is chinese book with a beautiful scantily clad woman on the cover and a good monster book from green ronin, with some wild CR/skills but no errata).

The monster of rokugan book is useful to anyone, even people unfamiliar with Asia (contrary to Jade Dragon & Hungry Ghost from Green Ronin).

The magic of rokugan book has the strongest tie with the Rokugan book, it's main part is new spells for shugenja and unique magic items (so half of the book is immediatly usable, the other half needs some adaptation). It also has some generic prestige class (ghost hunter, master smith). The biggest problem will be spell and magic items that use the taint or honor mechanic, but there isn't many of those.

I don't have magic of but have thought about getting it. But my next campaign won't be a Rokugan game, so I'll put that off.

I do have Creatures of, and its a really well done book. I've used monsters from it in a non-oriental game, and it worked well. I also plan to use some of the monsters from it in my up comming campaign.

Just becareful about Damage Reduction from Creatures of Rokugan. The book uses a variant on DR rules and can cause trouble if you don't use Jade or Crystal weapons. I haven't test played it (since I didn't use monsters with that type of DR), but I think the best way to solve this is to just lower a creatures DR by 2 when it has DR Jade or DR Crystal.
