John,

I think that's something we won't find out until a) some excerpts come our way and/or b) someone gets the book in Japan.

Sorry, not buying this book this time, so at least my preview is not happening. (I did Complete Scoundrel and Mage)

Kobold,

I SO don't want to see that.

Thanee,

Yeah that would be a tad more disturbing.

Eye,

I didn't mean you! :p I'm sure there are other people in Japan that can provide us with that information.

Brennen,

I like Andy but some times I think he's forgetting that magic items are a bonus, not a requirement. :p

I believe items will be arranged by WotC's own custom Dewey Decimal system, in preparation for 4E.

Seriously, Andy Collins also put up an interesting Design and Development article (part 1 of ?) on the WotC site, which starts off with explaining that most magic items suck, at least for the price, compared to the common AC/Attack/Ability boosts that almost everyone gets. I'm anxiously awaiting the next article in the series to see how he thinks the MIC addresses this.

I read this article too and it was pretty interesting. Having run a game today where there was quite a bit of buying and shopping at the start, he's absolutely right. I'm also looking forward to part 2 of the article.

Cheers

I'm surprised so few people have commented on it.

Aside from wands and the Big Six enhancer items, my group purchases or commissions very, very few other items, and those are typically for special purposes. The only odd things that pop up are from the one DM who uses old modules and mostly doesn't change the treasure list (unless he feels it makes no sense, like the Hammer of Thunderbolts in the Glacial Rift).

cig,

What about weapons? Surely they do something to gain access to them. I mean do you just "hand them out" or what?
