Magic items EVERY character NEEDS

Yeah I'm just thinking of magic items you just have to have cause if you don't... RIP

So here starts a list:
1) An item that grants a resistance bonus to saves, cloaks.
2) Boots of speed, or equivilent.
3) Bracers of health, +? to con.
4) ?

The list depends on the campain and playing style. I could well see a campain where +x to bluf is more important than a equaly expense + to armor or saves.

While desireable I believe it is not necessary for the whole party to be equipped with any of the items listed above.

While high saves are good a cloak of resistance has to be a pretty high value to make any difference to you low save, and your high save you are likely to make anyway.

Bracers of Health have a similair thing they aren't going to help dramatically except at high levels and high values. Even then it isn't going to give a huge increase to a fighters hit points, or completely compensate for a wizards low hit points. Its not a requirement to survival.

I think about the only item that every character can use is a bag of holding and generic + weapons and armor. Other then that it depends on the character. For example a dwarven cleric in full plate might need boots of speed but a human monk probably does not.

A rogue could put boots of move silently to good use, where as what is a fighter in metal armor going to do with those?

As long as haste is not corrected with DnD3.5, Boots of speed are a must. I mean, an extra partial action for 10 rounds in a row, and then you only need to take a single round to reactivate them again, and here you go for another 10 rounds.

Aside that, there is the Cloak of resistence +4.

Funny, my DMG says the boots of speed only last 10 rounds per day:
On command, these boots enable the wearer to act as though haste for up to 10 rounds each day. The duration of the haste need not be consecutive rounds.

Something to enhance your AC. It gets easier for everyone to hit as they ascend in level, but dodging attacks doesn't work as well...
