Magic Jar and the Tarrasque

The ruling is not RAW and doesn't make sense. Felix is right, if the wizard has access to SR then as part of the SR ability she can raise/lower it at will. If the wizard doesn't have access to SR then SR doesn't even come into the question. So which is it? Since Magic Jar doesn't give extraordinary abilities I'd say that the wizard doesn't get SR at all. This spell is as badly worded as polymorph ie what the hell are automatic abilities and natural abilities.

The SRD doesn't allow the wizard to gain troll regeneration abilities.

That's why you shouldn't rely on the SRD. It leaves out vital parts of many spells and other rules. Check the PHB instead. The wizard does gain the troll's regeneration abilities.

...has anyone thought what pain the wizard would have to take to get Big T killed??? Doesnt he feel the damage he gets? Whats with the idea of taking a big stone and hit yourself until you are almost dead? ....Ouch!

True -- I would have the wizard make a will save for the
killing suicide blow - something about self-preservation would
kick in at the final moment.
