Magic Jar Question

ToddSchumacher

I like to draw!
A Villian has cast magic jar and is in it, flunkies are also in the room guarding his (apparently) dead body. Heros enter the room and attck flunkies. Villian tries to enter one hero and hero makes save, now immune to further attempts. Rinse and repeat for each hero and fails to take control of any of the party.

My question, would they know someone tried to take over their body? WOuld they need some sort of knowledge arcane or spellcraft check to know specifically it was Magic Jar? Or would they be clueless.

Thanks

Spellcraft: [DC 25 + spell level] After rolling a saving throw against a spell targeted on you, determine what that spell was. No action required. No retry.

Also note that whether they could make out that it was Magic Jar or not, they would know that they had been targeted unsuccessfully by a spell if they made the save.

They should know someone attacked them mentally, but without arcane knowledge, they cannot do much with this. They definitely should not be able to identify the spell without Spellcraft.

Bye
