See, the class I like from the book is the Soulborn. Yes, the classes start off weaker than most other classes, but you can compensate for that quite well with the right melds. For instance, a number of the melds listed on the Soulborn meldshaping list grant immunities to various things, not to mention the Incarnum Defence class ability, which gives them immunity to something based off their alignment.
