Magical Medieval Society: Western Europe Building Question

The temple in question:
OK, I went ahead and made up what is more or less my dream temple. It's 45'x45', minus the 15'x15' courtyard:
2025-225=1800 sq. ft.

We may add on a couple second-floor balconies in the future, but for now it's just a single story.

Here's a kinda nit-picky question:
Does the square-footage of the temple include the area of the walls? It doesn't matter all that much, but it does matter some. Assuming all the walls are 1' thick, and there are about 4 walls throughout (including the interior and exterior walls), it looks like about 360 sq. ft. (4x45 horizontal walls + 4x45 vertical walls = 360 sq ft.).

I'm not done filling in all the rooms, but here's a list of what we've got:
Top: Rear hallways (storage, library)
Mid: Storage/armory; worship hall; kitchen
Alchemists' Lab/Magical Lab; entry hall; meeting room
Bottom: Bedroom; courtyard; storage
