Maiden Voyage (Midwood players stay out!)

Gnometown Hero
I FINALLY got this during Free RPG Day, and wow, I'm sorry it took me this long. What a great, fun adventure. Claustrophobic and even a little bit horrific.

I'm having the players go from an H.P. Lovecraft-inspired creepy seaside town to Freeport just in time for the trilogy modules, so my campaign may end up heavy on the Tentacled Elder Gods (I'm using Dagon in place of Yig and the Maiden Voyage god), but I can downplay that.

Any advice or things I should look out for in play?

Hi Whizbang,

I've run this adventure twice, both times in conjunction with the Freeport trilogy and it's excellent. The first time I ran it the dim-witted monk made friends with Vincenz and helped him escape when they made port.

Cheers

Richard

Given the group of players on board the ship -- not loving the name and will probably try to find something colorful from real world sailing ships from the 17th century -- Vincenz fits in pretty well, which means they'll either be best buddies with him or mortal enemies in no time.

I definitely think unleashing him on Freeport could be an interesting complication.
