Tsunamis often arrive as a series of waves which could be dangerous for several hours after the initial wave arrival. A tsunami advisory is in effect for coastal areas south of Point Conception. A tsunami is expected to be less than 3 feet. A Tsunami Watch is in effect for the immediate coast of southern and central California... Recommended actions... a tsunami has been generated in the far western Pacific Ocean... but at this time it not known how this will impact the California coast. Persons in low-lying coastal areas should move inland to higher ground and be alert to instructions from their local emergency officials. Tsunamis often arrive as a series of waves which could be dangerous for several hours after the initial wave arrival. If a tsunami was generated... the initial wave arrival would begin within 30 minutes of the estimated arrival times listed below: Port San Luis Harbor... at 809 am PST.
