Making Monster Soup

Howdy all! I'm DMing an adventure on Saturday (and every weekend) for some relative D&D newbies. Right now they're doing a great deal of traveling, and random (and not so random) encounters are the order of the day.

I was wondering if I could get you guys to go to your bookshelves and just flip open your books and pick any monster up to a CR 5. Post them here and I'll string them together. I don't mind if you pick something with a low CR... cause then it's swarm time!

I own the 3.0 MM, MMII, Tome of Horrors, CCII, Monsters of Faerun, Unapproachable East (which has some monsters), and Dragon magazine #277-#312. If you want to shout out anything from any of those sources, my PCs will curse your name... in a good way.

i love taking old pics and recreating them into encounters.

the blink dogs and displacer beast in 1edADnD is one of my favorites.

Aye to that diaglo. The first D&D books I ever read were the 1st ed Fiend Folio and Monster Manual. Some great pictures in there. (Flumph!)
