D&D 5E Making My War Cleric more effective

Sorry for the necro, but I'm building a hill dwarf war cleric as well and I'm considering going F1 first. That will net me the fighting style for +2 damage with my 1-handed weapon, 2nd wind, and the main reason proficiency in con saves. Other than delaying my Cleric abilities for a level are there any other pitfalls or drawbacks to that?

For those interested he's S:16 D:13 Cn:17 I:8 W:18 Ch:14 after racial modifiers. We rolled stats.

Yeah. A level of cleric! Losing prime spellcasting faster and feat sooner,etc is pretty huge. Depends on what you are going to do.

Getting spirit guardians faster is pretty huge.

We had similar problems with our. Class looks good but it is a bit average at least with the default array. A few of those classes get a lot better if you can roll some high stats.
