Just a quick buzz to let you know I've uploaded the DarkLore campaign Primer to RPGNow. It should be available for download soon.
It's ended up a lot bigger than initially expected. There's 82 pages in total! It's only $5.00 and all our takings will go towards supporting ENWorld!!
The DarkLore campaign primer is a D20 system game that has its own unique class system that captures the dark fantasy feel. There are 6 basic classes, one for each ability score (similar to D20 Modern, but fantasy based) and a multitude of career classes to further develop your character. New combat systems help emphasise the deadly atmosphere and modified spell lists make sure spellcasters are not just fireball/magic-missile blasters. There are also new mechanics that allow the players to interact with the story themsleves, bringing NPCs and items into the story at dramatically appropriate junctures.
DarkLore is designed as a system to help recreate the mood and pace of the classic novels of the fantasy genre, and all new systems and mechanics are designed to develop this flavour and feel. Future supplements will even provide you with a world changing story arc, so that your players can become the heroes of their own novel.
The DarkLore Campagin Primer can either be used to run a dark fantasy game in our own DarkLore world, or you can use the game mechanics presented to run your own dark fantasy game. There's even a special licence agreement so that you can publish your own game world using the DarkLore mechanics.
