Well, partially. The player's section was completed today, by me. Everything you need to create a character and hey, if your Mall Master wanted to run a game, he can wing it, because all you need is in the player's section. Not to say more isn't coming, because there are four more sections to do before it's all done.

Some parts will never be done until the end, such as feats. At any rate, it's free and you can read it on the Malls & Morons wiki (http://mallsandmorons.pbwiki.com). If you haven't checked it out before and are looking for something thats silly and serious, or you were a fan from back when and would like to see an updated ruleset, check it out. Hey, check it out anyway, just because.

If you want to comment, point out something I did wrong (good chance of that if you read), criticize, compliment, or just wanna share something, you can shoot a message at the M&M yahoo group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/malls_and_morons/).

"Dateless: A Trekkie can never get a date; ever. The opposite gender will only consider the Trekkie as a “good friend”, perhaps a “sibling” with hard dedicated work. The opposite gender simply does not find him attractive enough to ever date him or form a relationship with him. He is forever to remain single within the Fraternal Brotherhood of Trekkies."

Oh my God, I have to play this...

Any chance that this'll be released as a PDF? Wikis are all well and good, but difficult to print out for home useage.

Once all sections are finished, I will immediately begin laying out the info in the wiki (in addition to some more editing) in Word and convert to a PDF. The PDF will be free; I also plan to offer M&M as a softcover or hardcover book PoD via lulu.com. The books will not be free ( :D ).

EDIT: The wiki serves two functions: 1) to provide a living document that readers can see expand and unfold to see where the game is headed and 2) to allow someone to peruse the rules and content before they want to either download the pdf or buy a physical copy. After the PDF is released, some might consider the wiki superfluous, but I like having a website with content, a pdf, and physical books for sale; gives many options to the consumer.

Suggestion...

I definitely this game is missing a slacker/stoner subculture. Put them at a middle social level, since we're a diverse lot and pretty much get along with everybody. Maybe something like this:

Stoners are a fairly diverse subculture that shares one thing in common: Love for marijuana. They wear a wide variety of clothes, from comfortable to artsy-stylish. They tend to be friendly and agreeable with everyone. Stoners are different from people in other subgroups who merely smoke marijuana, as they view it as a lifestyle rather than an occasional laugh.

Personality: Stoners are easygoing and open minded, if a little distant or "goofy". They are accepting of most people who aren't outright mean, although they get along better with people who smoke marijuana. Many are drawn to creative pursuits, and some delve into philosophy or sociology. The latter often launching into humorously earnest and misguided manifestos. Many stoners are perfectly happy where they're at and face the struggle of holding onto their place while they can.

Relations: Stoners don't judge as stongly as other subcultures, although they aren't without reservations. They get along well with anarchs as they share similar beliefs and the occasional need to stand against authority, but they lack the passion. They sometimes smoke with goths, although they usually consider them "buzzkill". Nerds are usually put off by stoners' drug use, and stoners are usually put off by nerdy uptightness. Jocks and valley teens sometimes end up at the same parties, and often provide hookups that develop into casual friendships.

Cliques: Stoners form loose, egalitarian cliques sometimes referred to as circles. Depending on the makeup of the circle, they may get high to party, share ideas or simply enjoy each other's company. Stoners can drift from circle to circle without prejudice. Sometimes they will venture from basements or suburban woodlands to find amusement or munchies at the mall. They usually can be seen wandering around slowly, spending too much money at food courts and laughing at things in store windows.

* +2 Wisdom, -2 Intelligence. The stoner lifestyle leads to insights on life lost to many, but it also deprives one of skills necessary to survive in the modern world.
* Bonus skill: Knowledge (Pop Culture). Stoners spend a lot of time amusing themselves in front of TVs and computers.
* Chill, it's good... Once per day, a stoner can use a flash of inspiration to get a +5 to any skill check for a skill that he has no ranks in. This can inculde a skill he cannot normally take untrained, such as demolitions.
* Dude, I'm freaking out! Constant paranoia grants stoners +2 on all perception checks involving spotting things out of the ordinary, such as someone hiding in the shadows or an undercover security guard. For realism, Mall Masters should make them roll sometimes even when something isn't amiss and watch the hilarity ensue.
* Ate up. Once a week, a stoner must make a wealth check (DC 3-5) for his marijuana fix. If he fails this check, he must make a will save (DC 15) or gain one depression token. He can attempt another wealth check the next day. If it fails, he must make another will save or gain another depression token. This process continues until he can successfully make a purchase. The tokens cannot be removed until he makes a successful purchase.
* Automatic dialects: Stoned Ranting
Social Class: Middle
