Malvec defeated, Mandrin found

"Blast it... yes em I figure going to the next island will have to do. We can't stay here bobbin like flotsom... there be little answers... only danger on the island we just left. One o' them lizard claws still lives there as of yet."

Ezieer adjust the sails and turns the rudder to head torward the next island.

"I can gets us there."

Ezieer adjusts the boom and tightens up the jib. Then throws the rudder to line up their next destination....

"We be off... if the wind holds we'all be there quick enough."

North. Ezieer guides your skiff into motion with the rising sun and the first puffs of breeze. It is a long and hot day of sailing and Mandrin continues to reek. Tempers are becoming short by day's end as the water on the boat begins to run dry. There is plenty of food, but you were not heavily provisioned with water.

At sunset the island is spotted to the west. It seems that Ezieer did not account for the current and leeway perfectly on your journey. Fortunately, the Mari have a large communal fire in their main village which serves to light your way to the island. The skiff makes landfall near midnight and you all climb out onto the beach several miles from the Mari village.

Eisinrhyr snorts, "By all means, yes. Let us hurry. I cannot wait to get back to the Lady's ship, and wash my hands of this entire affair."

Readjusting the strap of his satchel, he grumbles, "We can only hope that with her ship seemingly not present at the moment, they do not decide to add us to their mine slaves."

He snorts again, "Damned savages."

"Well I would think we'd be treated like heroes here... we've put a stop to the lizard claws raids. That is... if they choose to believe we have. We don't have any of the religious loot no more... but we got some loot regardless."

He scrunches up his face.

"Well I'm not so sure about sneakin about... One... most of you ain't too sneaky. Two... if you get caught sneakin' they treat you like a sneak. Which we ain't wanna be treated like if we want to talk and maybe be put up nice like. Better to be seen and from the git go. If Azeem tells our story aw-right.. we'll shoulda be eatin roast boar in an hour."

"Yes, they've no doubt good reason to be grateful, with all we've done for them. But keep in mind that these are savage slavers, likely with no understanding of either gratitude or hospitality, except when it suits their needs."

"I'm not saying we should sneak around or keep away from their settlement. I'm simply saying that we'd be fools to place too much trust in them."

"I did not mean to sneak about. I meant that we should watch our tounges and our backs until we know more about our situation."
