Man. of the Planes/Planar Handbook Question...

Hey y'all... this is sort of a continuation of a thread I started in the Rules forum Right Here

I'm looking for a portal/teleportation/transportation spell of some sort that will open a gate at one place, and spit people that walk through it out at another place in the same plane (think Traveling in the Wheel of Time)... Gate almost does it-- but only works for travel from one plane to another and not in the same plane.

I've been told that there may be a spell like that in the Man. of the Planes or the Planar Handbook and, beings that I am at work, I can't look it up. Any of you know, off the top of your head, if such a spell exists?

(If not, I'll be posting my own version for revision in a bit) :)

Thanks!

Or, I think there is a spell just like this in Book of Eldritch Might III, in the first section.

(Man I wish Malhavoc had a setup like RPGobjects or QLI. I could re-download it and tell you...)

Worldwalk is a 2ed spell...unless there's a 3rd edition conversion out there, I think you need to keep looking.

That's because it was essentially replaced by the craft gate feat.

Anyways home now... the spell in BoEM III is permanent, and creates a portal between two places. It's called Door to Elsewhere and is Sor/Wiz 9.

Interesting. Might give that one a look, then, although I suspect they want something less permanent.
We're looking for something that will open up so that we can shove them through and close it up behind them.

:D Want them out of our hair ASAP with no means to come get back IN it.

The BoEMIII spell would probably work fine. What I'd suggest is to make a diminished version (a la Arcana Unearthed) that is available to the PCs. So it would be an 8th level spell with a finite duration. You could give it out in an item or a token.

Why not Gate? I guess you need something of lower level? I'm not sure you are going to find it because anything that does that is probably going to have a saving throw or some other restriction making it difficult.

There are some ethereal spells in Book of Hallowed Might 1 that might work. Manual of the Planes had Shadow Cache which allowed you to place something into the plane of shadow and eventually it would get lost.
