I didn't see another thread on this news -- evidently Steve Marsh, who was an important and influential OD&D designer, is auctioning off a ton of personal gaming material, including several bundles of notes and manuscripts, some from unpublished TSR projects:

Maybe the most interesting items are associated with the aborted "Planes of Existence" hardcover, which Marsh was working on with Gary Gygax. Back in the day there were lots of tantalizing rumors about some kind of planar book, and evidently a goodly amount of work was completed before Gary left TSR.
The concept eventually became Jeff Grubb's Manual of the Planes, which was a pretty good book, but many of us always wondered what the Gygax version would have been like.
Some enterprising d20 publisher ought to buy these, polish them up, and release a "True Manual of the Planes." That would be awesome.
