MARS Q&A

GMSkarka said:
I've been fielding some questions about our forthcoming MARS planetary romance RPG, in our announcement thread and via email, so I've decided to launch this thread specifically to answer any questions that people have about the game.

So, fire away!

To reprint the answer to the most common question so far:

MARS will NOT be available via your Friendly Local Game Store. We recognize that this is a niche-interest product, and sales via distribution (especially with the 60%+ discount they require) would be too slim to make it even a break-even prospect.

The PDF will be available from RPGNow, DriveThruRPG and ENWorld. The print version will be exclusively available direct from the publisher (Adamant Entertainment)

Supplements, Adventures and the like will be PDF -- although special print collections are also possible. (We're holding off on those decisions until we can gauge the popularity of the main rulebook)

Hi, any idea what day this week this will be out? I'm hoping I can get it before Friday.

Thanks,
Rich

Lets be realistic... What you are likely to get before Friday is an email declaring another delay. That seems to be the tradition, as far as Mars is concerned.
That's hardly fair - the two big delays on Mars have been caused by events outside of GMS's control (first the legal problems, then GMS's cancer scare). I can't imagine Garath wants any more delays on Mars, for his own peace of mind let alone needing to keep preorder customers happy.

Cheers,
Jason

Q: What happened? I mean I understand if this is in NDA-ville, but how did you get the Burroughs estate to back off?
Yes. The Burroughs' Estate owns the trademarks to Barsoom, Tarzan, the Earth's Core, and so forth. Burroughs' company, ERB, Inc., is still operating.

I have been checking RPGnow everyday for this. Hopefully it comes out this weekend!

Guaranteed. (The shipping on the print copies will obviously take longer, but you'll have the PDF this weekend.)

Now, if you'll excuse me, back to work --- my office is exploding.

Good luck with the reflex save!

Weeeeeeeee still checking! Only about 4 times today....

Bought and reading the first John Carter book by ERB to celebrate the occasion!

It is keeping me sated until that bad boy pops up on RPGnow...
