Martial Adepts and PHB Classes

I find that it makes for a fun dynamic in the party where some are pushing to stop while others are pushing to keep going. It's pretty cool.

I had not thought of it that way, but thats true, it would make for an interesting dynamic.

I do this in my campaign, I find the best way to have non Bo9s characters have as followes.

Maneuvers known: 1 starting, 1 at 10th level, one at 20th
Stances known: As a warlocks Invocations
Stances Readied: Wisdom bonus.

This leaves non Bo9s characters a step behind bo9s characters while still having their own set of abilities.

Hong wrote a series of posts that describe playing a swordsage over some high levels and, as his posts show, it was balanced against the other classes. I can't find it right now but Google is your friend.

Many critics agree that there are balance issues when compared to the core classes.
Many apologists accept this is true, but think it's justified.

Such a "Fair & Balanced" framing of the issues.
My cup runneth over with respect for you. :(

Now to the main issue, it never has been a problem in the games I have ran. I have seen a Swordsage at low level and at high. Actions are the currency of the game, most spell casters will have either wands, staves, or scrolls they can use on filler rounds when deciding what spell to cast.

Martial adept classes can be extremely useful with their maneuvers, and a Swordsage can be a decent melee-ist, but unless you have someone that is really willing to put in the time to optimize their character, I do not think it will dominate the group.
