I think it looks pretty interesting, and I plan on checking it out whenever I come across it. If anyone knows of any reviews online, could they link to them?

Multicolored stones, huh?

I'll have to pass. I'd be hearing quips like this all afternoon:

"You wanna lift the car offa the trapped woman? I'm sorry, but you don't have the stones for that." :D

The game mechanics are simple, you have two types of stones. White stones, which are your health, and Red stones, which are your energy.
Are we actually talking about physical objects like counters or are these just abstracts that one tallys on a piece of paper?

Physical objects for the stones. I think this is a good idea and I think its will be easier for kids to enter the realm of rpg'ing with characters they are familiar with without using dice. The use of stones is very smart actually, and 'more experienced' gamers will decide not to play it because it doesn't use dice.

I would say this game is aimed at the younger audience, and for that I will buy this and play with some kids that like to read comics and like to play as superheroes without using a much more advanced game [HERO and M&M to name a couple].

Mutants and Masterminds is much more simpler than Hero and the FUZION rules it helped to launch. Also it streamlines the d20 system.

IMOO.

(In my own opionion.)

And that's coming from a guy who has to pass multi-coloured stones! What are ya, a mutant or something? :D

Cheers,

I have the new Marvel Rpg and been reading it the last few days. I thinks its "OK", not great, not bad.

Being Diceless there is some "quirks " with the system.

Like the fact Captain America can physically hit AND HURT the Hulk. Hit him? Sure, HURT HIM? I wouldn't think so.

The game does a good job of capturing the "feel" of a comic book and promoting a story in a comic book way.

The stones idea I don't care for in combat(see afore mentioned Cap/Hulk thing). People who shouldn't be able to hurt somebody else can, some people CAN'T hurt others-EVER, due to a high Def and having enough stones so the other, even if they put all their stones in offense, can't match them(Example Cyclops can NEVER hit Cap unless Cap wants him too, or he ambushes him or something). They can't even get "lucky"-since no dice equals no randomness.

It makes the Durability score way, way too important(balanced somewhat by the fact this ability costs 3x as much as others), along with Toughness skill.

I would give it a 5.5 on a scale of 10. Not the worst Superhero rpg I have seen by far, but would not be my first choice either.

How exactly does it list Super Powers?

Does it have a detailed list like the old TSR Marvel Super Heros game or just short and sweet name and number like the SAGA system?
