Mass Effect movie confirmed

Doesn't sound that interesting to me. I want to see the "real" story

I know the real story, I played it through two games. What they put in a movie won't be the real story to me. It won't be my Shepherd, my choices, my decisions.

I agree.

I wonder if they could somehow make a connected, but different story, like in novels. Well, if the Mass Effect 3 gets done before the movie ...

Shoe-horn? The game had 2 possible love interests (or 3, depending on if you count before or after you decide the character's sex ;) ).

Well, since we all have different opinions on the subject matter, what's important to me in a Mass Effect movie may not be as important to you. LightPhoenix obviously (and near completely) disagrees with me on what needs to be seen, for example.

But yeah, if you're trying to make an ~2hr action blockbuster that covers Sarin and the Reapers, I think you're going to need every second of that time. Fitting in a love story in addition will make it incredibly difficult to do any one thing well.

Mass Effect 1 can be beaten in... what, 15-20 hours if you do nothing but the main storyline and burn through it? And yet, even if you discount most of the fighting, that's a LOT longer than it will actually have in the theatre. Eliminate all but the 'epic' fights and it's still going to be tough to shoehorn in the things that I think are important... which obviously vary from ME fan to ME fan. :)
