Massive Damage effects

We didn't get into a major battle this time, I'm afraid. And I don't think the next combat will be the one that will test massive damage. The combat after that, however, will be body tank vs. body tank. That is going to be barn burner. Possibly some barns will get nuked as well. That battle will probably decide, among other things, whether I'm going to convert armor to DR. By the time you've got people in body tanks, defense bonuses will start stacking pretty high, but these can pretty much be blown through by using grenades or autofire. Armor as defense bonus doesn't protect against this.

yer thats what I found when 1st playing modern, the AC gets way too high.

I used a converted AC to AC and DR package, that seemed to work well.

I too found Defense to 'not quite work' with modern weapons. I adpated an armor dice system (kinda like variable DR) and applied a low Defense value to armor +1 to +6 for maxed powered armor. My players have really enjoyed it, rolling dice to negate damage was 'fun' for them ;-)

yer I was thinking of a roll for defence like roll to attack, so defender and attacker are both rolling, after all defence currently is a take 10.
