I could see selling it being illegal and perhaps mass-distributing it to be illegal, but is giving a copy to a couple people who ask for it illegal? [I'm not actually trying to get a copy atm, but am just curious]

Why would it be illegal? You'd still have to buy the books if you actually wanted to use the feats, so I'd say that definitely come under fair use (actually, I'd say it was more like free advertising).

Disclaimer: IANAL

glass.

I have also done a "book of feats" for my own persoanl use. I actually used a database. I did add the Eberron Feats, but not FR, DR, any of the Races of.. series, or any of the monster books. Still pretty damnably long.

I also did the same for PrC's

I'll be posting it to ENWorld once it's done, probably in the next week or two. I have included the books from where the feats came from. I'll be including all the WotC books that I own, with the exception of Forgotten Realms. I'm still debating whether or not to include the original class splatbooks (softcovers). I don't care whether the sources are 3.0/3.5, but I think most of the feats from those splatbooks are covered or revised in other books. I'm not interested in including non-WotC material simply b/c a lot of it is unbalanced and it would make the job impossible to complete.

It's in Excel format so you can sort by name, type, source, etc.

I would hesitate posting it to EN World as anything that is not open license will cause copyright infringement. If there are multiple souces that are not open liscence then it will constitute many instances of copyright infringement. You as a user of EN World may get nothing more than a cease and desist, but EN World may get slapped with more.

Granted, if it is just a list of feat names and where they are located, I'd think that would be fine.

I've been thinking of doing this myself. A listing of feats with source references and a short description for each (and properly formatted to easily see most dependencies). I need something for my players to look at when they level up and need to pick a new feat. I don't bring any books to games now that I have DM Genie, but the program doesn't provide the best possible display of the feats for a player trying to decide on what coms next.

Yeah, my personal list has everything but the one I'd post would probably be cut down to the names of the feats and the source.

I did this for my game. Last update was about the time of Complete Divine or Draconomicon, though. If it helps you, you can find my stuff here:

The first link is stuff I've definitely allowed. The second is stuff that is available, but I thought there'd be less demand so I broke the list in two. Not all feats are allowed/listed, but it should ease your typing. I could also email you the .xls files I've got.
