Master Staff...

The Epic Feat, Master Staff, allows a caster to use a spell slot instead of a staff charge to cast a spell from a staff. Would Staff spells that drain two charges cost two spell slots or just one?

It is from the Epic Level Handbook
I think you only pay one spell slot regardless of how many charges it requires.

Well, it's an Epic feat, so there aren't too many choices...

Hey... He posted this as a 3.5 question... I searched the new epic stuff in the 3.5 SRD... it wasn't there... so that is why I asked.

Since it says 'you can substitute a spell slot instead of using a chrage', I believe it is on a one-for-one basis. Meaning two spells slots for two charges.

Master Staff also says "you may lose a prepared spell to emulate a wand charge". I think most of the first paragraph is a cut and paste for the Master Wand feat that does not have the mulitiple charge issue. IMO this sentence should read 'you can substitute a spell slot instead of using the normal charge(s)'

Also in the example given a Lightning bolt (heightened to 5th level) is being paid for with a third level spell in contradiction to the equal to or higher including metamagic enhancement clause.
