Another stop in for those still interested. Two more YouTube channels worth checking out.
'Tasting History with Max Miller' and 'Townsends'. The first discusses cooking, dishes and events ways they were used in historical context and then the associated modern recipies for the brave of heart (and stomach). Recipies cover most recorded time periods so lots of great stuff.
Townsends cover the 18 &19th C. specifically but the early recipies have roots as far as the Medieval and Renaissance periods, so while not a direct link, there is a forking (sorry for the unintentional pun) of the historical road you can meander down for ideas. Hope this helps.
