Maximum Attacks Per Round?

This particualr fella is humanoidish and sports a +4 Thundering Greatsword. No natural weapons of note.

Awwww, C'mon! He's an Abyssal *Duke* the man's gotta have an impressive over-sized set of horns at least! :p

Oh he is evil looking all right. Horns, bat wings, evil pointy goatee, pasty skin, eyes with no irises... just pitch black pupils.

Just nothing like claws or jaws, or tails, or jaws in the torso like the Klurichir, etc...

Ooo Klurichir. Too weak for its CR but preventing the summoning of an updated version became the goal of my campaign (which got majourly sidetracked but did manage to keep away the Klurichir)

Well alrighty then! This fella could have a couple of natural wing (if this guy has an overly expansive and grand expanse of wings hehe - I'm think the way a dragon gets such attacks) and a horn attacks to boot! Though, likely not the Duke's MO to go that route I imagine - he probably wears his wings like some bat-like cloak? At least, not unless he was really, really ticked off or something.

I never put anything past my players though, I'd put those natural attacks in there as a stand-by in case he gets seriously messed with! ;)

Any thoughts on this issue:

One more question...

Does a 30 HD monster (Outsider) have a Base Attack Bonus of 30? Per the MM monster creation guidelines? Or 25? Per the Epic Character rules?

Thanks again.

30 per the MM. In fact its possible for the monster not to use the ELH (if you decide not to give it any epic feats). There are quite a few high-HD creatures in the MM that don't use the ELH (like the Tarrasque).

It probably deserves note that in 3.0, BAB derived from natural HD ignored the normal cap. So, a solar with scads of HD got scads of attacks.

When 3E was released, there was no cap... hence the solar with his 5 attacks.

Core classes only go up to level 20, so there was, in theory, no need to provide rules for PCs with higher than +20 BAB... except, of course, that a 3E Clr-20 could pull off a BAB of +32, temporarily...

So, until the ELH came out (and with it the 4 attack cap, which should have retro-fitted the Solar as well - was it ever stated that natural HD ignore the cap, or did people just make that up to fit the Solar?), that Cleric would get 7 iterative attacks while his spells lasted...

Oooo, don't forget that Dragon Magazine feat Divine Fury that gave the cleric +Charisma Bonus +1 to base attack and called out that it increased number of attacks. That allowed clerics to have like 10 iterative attacks...

I don't have any 3E Dragons :)

The BAB 32 was using core rules only.

Yup, I know that one. And I've had a 3.0 cleric propose a rules combo involving that and Dragon that gave her BAB I think 50 at level 20. I said no.
