I think though he got some dates wrong, like using Bakelite before it was actually discovered. I'm gonna hav'ta look that up though to be sure.
By the way, I just read to the end of the book. At the back the author included a page describing the fact that he had altered the timeline of real events to make it fit the narrative of the story, and so that's why the book struck me as having wrong or odd dates for things. It wasn't a mistake. He did it intentionally.
