May Mythological Monster Mayhem

In the past, we've had the March Movie Monster Madness challenges, where anyone who wants to participate can stat up a monster from a movie, then we put all the entries to a poll. The winner receives the respect and admiration of his or her peers.

I thought it would be fun to try another one. This month's challenge is to select a mythological monster or a creature that has appeared in faerie tales, folk tales, urban legends, etc.

Post your intent in this thread, then post your creature over in Homebrews with the title "May Mythological Monster Mayhem" and the name of your creature. Then come back to this thread and post a link or just mention that it is up in Homebrews.

My fiancee has a Classics degree. I'll bet she can come up with some lesser-known mythological beasts, who probably have not been statted in some monster manual or another I'll see what I can come up with.

I'd been pondering doing a write-up of Lange Wapper, a mythical figure from my own home country. (Encyclopedia Mythica is a *great* source for various obscure mythological creatures, by the way...)

This guy would presumably be some sort of Fey with access to Enlarge and Reduce at will.

Now if I only had time to actually write him up!
