It's primarily a matter of sensibilities, but I have loathed most of the character build we've seen that included just the basic multi-classing feat and then taking a paragon path from that class.
Paragon : a model of excellence or perfection
A paragon path makes you a model in a certain archetype of your class.
If all you have is the basic MC feat, you have barely dipped in the training of that other class and now you claim to be a paragon?
Pretty much all of the build I've seen doing this, the sole point was to gain a single feature of the path and the rest is just there for the ride. Pit fighter seems popular for that. I expect any day to see a Wizard build that takes the Pit fighter path for the sake of using the extra damage action feature on his fireballs.
I've toyed with banning the MC paragon path altogether but I don't like to be too restrictive.
So here is my houserule :
You can only take the paragon path of another class if you have all three power swapping feats.
That way you will have a legitimate claim at being a member of the class from which you wish to be a paragon.
It's already required if you want to take the Paragon Multiclassing option, I don't seee why it should be required to take outright the paragon path of another class.
