McFarlane looking more at RPG players?

Two Dragon series this year.

Pictures already up for Series 3 in early 2006. Plus recently listed Dragons 4 for July 06.

Plus more specifically it is adding a 3" scale line which is more RPG friendly. Other than the last 3 items on the list (guns, modern hoods, santa spawn) the rest will make suitable 3" tall (Giant/Nightwalkere sized) monsters. Much moreso than the 6" or 12" originals.

No more than them putting out those Conan figures. They're appealing to the fantasy market in general, not roleplayers in particular. It helps that the toys're high quality. Any association with RPGs is purely incidental.

I don't know that McFarlane is looking at RPGers as a specific target audience, but some of their action figs made darned good giants (if you prefer your giants really, really big). ;)

3-inch figs? I am so there! :D

I don't think McFarlane is doing anything for the RPG'ers. I just think he's following suit with the 3" figures, the same way he has with his sports series.

Who knows, maybe he'll get smart and get into the mini business. I mean, why not? He makes good stuff and I know lots of people would buy them up...
