Welcome to the MD – VA – DC EN World (TerpCon) Sign-up Thread!

Please check the thread from time to time…since more games may be added (and some may be cancelled). If your plans change, please post a cancellation notice in the proper color so we can adjust the schedule accordingly.

In addition to the planned games, there will be some other activities going on…including Axis and Allies, open gaming and some “pick-up” games that might not make it onto the list.

The whole goal is to have fun and meet folks...so stay flexible...be ready for some last minute changes...have a back-up game in mind in case your first choice fills up or in case the GM has an emergency!

TEASER: The idyllic countryside is aflame as goblin raiders from the hills swarm down into the farmlands raiding, butchering and pillaging. The PC's village has been overrun with many grievously injured and dead. The survivors pickup the pieces, tend to the wounded, and bury the dead. Yet there is no time to mourn the dead, as they realize that many folk are missing and assumed capture. A call for volunteers is made for immediate pursuit across the perilous countryside.

TEASER: A map and a key have been found. A scribbled note on the map pikes your interest, "the Eye of Evecor." Hidden within the depths of the Korrada Swamp lies the lost city of Tendara. Rumored to have once been the home of an ancient race, it now lies in ruins. Legends speak of the terrible horrors awakened on the "Night of the Whispering Winds". Perhaps these horrors caused its destruction. Perhaps they still occupy the city. The recently unveiled map and key offer the only hints to ever enter this elusive city. Rumors abound of the great treasures lying within the city. One rumor in particular is of significance, "Lost deep within the unplundered treasure vaults of Tendara lies the gem known as the Eye of Evecor..."

TEASER: The feather of truth and justice has been stolen from the Hall of Maat where the judgment of the dead is performed. The gods are silent as to who is responsible. With the feather of Maat goddess of truth gone, the souls of the dead can’t be judged and allowed to enter the fields of peace (afterlife). Now undead roam the world of the living and the demon Ammut, devourer of souls is lose causing death and destruction where ever she goes. It’s a race against time, to find the feather of truth and return it to the Hall of Maat before Ammut and the walking dead destroy civilization.

Part 1: The Black Pharaoh - Legends speak of an ancient pharaoh, dubbed the black pharaoh, who was gifted by a strange god with the ability to see into the future. This knowledge drove the Black Pharaoh mad, but before his death, it is whispered that he transcribed all future events on the walls of his tomb. If the tales of the Black Pharaoh are true, the answer to who stole the feather of truth will be painted on walls of the Black Pharaoh’s tomb for all to see. Does the tomb of the Black Pharaoh exist, and if so what kind of traps and guardians lie in wait? Will the Black Pharaoh’s mad ramblings identify who really stole the feather of truth? Can the characters stop the demon Ammut before she can devour every living soul?

TEASER: From the emerging young Kingdom of Correl, the eastern Baronies have been operating as a loose confederation, each with their own interests, beliefs, and sometimes vastly different laws. Seeking to quell the Barons before open violence erupts, the King of Correl has come from the west to meet them in the grand city of Kargam, once called the capital of the east. Tournaments of sport are sponsored, and a feast honoring the Barons consumes an entire week before the summit finally occurs.

SPECIAL NOTES: This is a D&D 3.5 game using my own homebrew campaign setting of Correl, a mid-magic setting similar to Greyhawk. The PCs are rulers, land owners, respected leaders and retired adventurers in charge of armies and vying for the best interests of their respective barony. Each pre-generated character will come with a map of the lands, simplified barony assets, and issues to be discussed. Rules from the Fields of Blood will be used should mass combat be necessary.

Are you up to the challenge?

SPECIAL NOTES: This game will be a D20 Traveller ("T20") game set in the standard Traveller Imperium setting. Traveller is a game of adventure set in the far future, in and around a human-dominated empire called the Imperium. The adventure will use infomation presented in the Gateway to Destiny setting book.

Pre-generated characters will be provided. As this is not a formal company sponsored event, I will be using a few tweaks (primarily to Chargen.)

Familiarity with T20 or some other version of Traveller is helpful but not required. Character sheets will list as much information as possible to play the game. Those not familiar with Traveller note: combat is very much more deadly than the d20 norm. Though combat is possible, investigation and problem-solving are more the normal tenor for the game. The adventure will be written to introduce players to various aspects of the T20 rules.

When responding to the sign-up (once opened), please indicate your level of familiarity with Traveller and preferences for character types. Those not familiar with T20 can check out the free T20 lite rules Here.

TEASER: Regardless of anyone's personal feelings, nearly everyone agreed on one thing: the supernatural known as Glory kept the lid on the pot. Seemingly more powerful than any other supernatural on Earth, his constant vigilance mitigated the worst of supernatural threats. There's only one problem: he isn't around anymore. He and his satellite headquarters haven't been seen for days. In anticipation of the troubles to come, his grandson has formed the United, named for Glory's previous society of justice seekers. Made up of the descendants of supernaturals, they seek to hold the lid down, and live up to the legacies they've inherited. This is their first day on the job...

Part 2: The Dark Sands of Duat –Duat is the realm of damned souls. Those who are judged in the Halls of Maat, and found wanting, but not devoured by the demoness Ammut are sent to Duat land of the dead. The previous efforts to find the feather of truth have lead to the eternally dark plane of Duat. What is the feather of truth doing in the land of the damned? Can a mortal enter Duat without dying first? What secret is so terrible that the gods themselves will not risk the journey?

GAME: Over The Edge (OTE), described by it's creator (a fella by the name of Jonathan Tweet) as "free-form, postmodern roleplaying on an island of nightmare and insanity"

TEASER: Hollywood's most beautiful couple is also among it's most unusual. Their five-year marriage has provided the tabloids with lots of fodder about their sex lives, lavish lifestyle and most importantly, their personal eccentricities. They have recently traveled with their spiritual advisor to the little-known Mediterranean island of Al Amarja. For various reasons, the PCs have followed them there. (and if that doesn't sound like much of an adventure, well, you've never been Over The Edge).

No previous experience with OTE is necessary (in fact, the less you know about it, the better). Character creation is completely free-form in order to keep the focus on role-playing instead of number crunching. Game mechanics are streamlined and will take all of five minutes to absorb.
