[*] DRM - Directions/layout .pdf file? Barring that, can you repost the website for the student center with the driving directions? Also, we need to confirm the cost for all day parking and re-list the food places, so people have an idea of how much cash to bring. Finally, do we have table numbers?

Directions to the campus are pretty easy; I'll work on something this weekend. Basically you head towards College Park via the Beltway, and then park in Lot 1/Lot Z (which is on the right if you're coming in from 193 to Stadium Drive, and straight through the campus if you come up from Route 1). Parking is free (as in beer!), and food is available in the form of a food court. Standard prices for fast food joints including Panda, Steak Escape, McDonald's, Chick-Fil-A, and Sbarro's. There's a Chevy Chase ATM available in the Union, but I doubt you'd spend more than $20 on food for three meals.

[*] Table Numbers/Number Holders - If anyone has a line on 10 Table Numbers/Table Number Holders like they use at weddings and banquets, please bring them. DRM has been looking into them...but I really think it would help with the organization.

What are these things? Why not just print numbers on a piece of paper and fold them into a triangle?

I suppose standing paper triangles could work, but they tend to get removed, knocked over and lost once a game starts and a DM pulls out a battlemat making it hard for late comers to know which table to be at. I may be able to get my hands on some metal stands, but don't hold your breath.

For directions, I will work on posting up something for ways to get to the campus for you to incorporate with the campus directions/map.

Table 5 Afternoon Cancelled

Hey OO -

I just received word that M. Scott Welk will not be able to make it as he is being sent off on behest of the US Gov't. Could you post a notice? I'll work on informing the players that signed up for his CoC game, if I can.

Thanks.

Metro Directions?

Hey y'all, I believe I'll be Metroing in, so I'll need some directions from the College Park stop to the Student Center building. The metro directions aren't particularly helpful as I'm not too clear on where the shuttle bus stops etc.

Anyway, specific directions would be most appreciated!

The ShuttleUM College Park Metro Bus has a stop in the bus loop outside of the metro station. Their stop is the one closest to the street. Just look for the big red bus.

The bus will take you from the Metro station directly to the Union. So no need to try to find your way around campus afterwards.

Vielen Dank. :)

Sounds pretty straightforward. Hopefully, the early hour won't decimate my otherwise well-honed ability to follow directions. :p

Unfortunately the early hour will decimate your chances of getting a Shuttle ride. Shuttle UM starts at noon, which means that you can either walk or beg for a ride. I recommend asking for a ride, since I'm offering to pick you up.

My e-mail is keving (at) umd (dot) edu, so give me a message so we can exchange necessary info.
