Not really germane, but I have a problem with the above characters that I also have with Iron Heroes.

Shields as Weapons.

This bothers me. And a dual-shield-wielding Armiger really bothers me.

Actually, it makes a lot of sense from a practical perspective in this case. If I'm running around with a crossbow in my hand, I'd rather have a melee weapon that strapped to my arm than something I'd have to draw and use.

Incidentally, what does dual-shield-wielding have to do with IH? It's the most popular TWF build over on the character optimization boards for 3.5 D&D; it's pretty well built into that game.

So D&D 3.5 is old school now?
Heh, that's what I was thinking - when I saw the "old school" comment, I got all excited and scrolled up to make sure the drow didn't have a negative AC!

Not everything changes in a playtest on day one. In fact, that'd be about the worst way to do a test, since you wouldn't be able to isolate problems.
I was just confused because we've already seen monster examples that used a different 4e AC scheme. Haven't we? We've seen it listed out differently, at least. Perhaps I'm just a very, very confused man. I was just wondering if they were stepping back from some of the other previewed changes we've seen.
