Med-Encumbered Dwarf Barbarian Base Speed: 20' or 25'?

If you applied it at the end then you would do it at the end of all things.

Boots of Sprinting and Stridding = Speed x2 +10??? No.

From a strictly textual reading it simply isn't that clear. Boots of S&S don't change base speed, Fast move says it does. The only chart in the PHB that deals with armor and speeds say they are broken up by race, not speed. It's weird and definately unclear.

For a home game have the DM pick one he likes and go with it. I doubt it's that big a deal anyways. 25' isn't as fast as 30' which still means that come running away time you're screwed...

Hm, he can move 30 ft. naked. Then he gets medium load or a medium armor and his base speed is reduced to 2/3. so 20ft.
Why shouldn't encumbrance affect the +10 ft on movement ????
The person is faster because he is a barbarian, not because he is wearing a some kind of armor.
IMHO.

I just had to post that this statement sums up my problems with the "apply after" interpretation. I just couldn't state it near as succinctly!
