The RPG Toolbox Vol 2 consists of two mapping utilities and 30 other simple role-playing game tools, all geared toward helping you to create a believable Medieval Society.

With it, you can randomly fill out worksheets, create and print custom city charters, create and print custom lists of taxes and staff members to populate your medieval manors, and create simple outline maps for the overview of an entire manor or of a manorial complex surrounding a manorial home. For easy reference, it also includes a section of Reference Tables enhanced with random number generators. The Tables section includes lists of workshops, offices, professions, expenses, structure types...26 tables in all.

The text-part of the material included in the Medieval Society Generators is taken from a popular sourcebook which uses the Open Game License. It requires the use of a PC running a standards based browser capable of displaying images (1024x768 recommended) and running Javascript 1.5. If you are unsure, please check your documentation.

As with Map Pack: The RPG Toolbox Vol 1, the Medieval Society Generators: The RPG Toolbox Vol 2 will be available for sale at http://www.RPGNow.com. For more information please visit http://www.DimensionsGameSoftware.com or email doctorjeff98@msn.com. "

Are you talking about Expeditious Retreat's Magical Medieval Society? I hope you asked permission. Even if it's OGL, at least it would be nice to ask them first.

Jeff contacted us but we already had an arrangement with twin rose for MMS:WE software. As MMS:WE is all OGC he's completely legit as long as he follows the liscense.

Like he said, we talked well in advance of the product being released and if I had any indication that anyone had qualms with this product being released it would never have been created. As it is, I simply added some enhancements to my favorite parts of a great sourcebook!

Since it works on a standards compliant browser and uses Javascript, has anybody tried it out on a Mac or Linux machine?

I tested it on Netscape, Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Network explorer---but all running from an IBM compatible. I know that the many free tools on my site have been successfully used with Macs and Linux machines. If anyone tests it on a Mac or Linux, please post to let us know how it goes!

I tried to download the demo from RPGnow, but the link is broken. Might you investigate? I'd prefer to try before buying.

Thanks!:)

The link works now! Thanks for that heads up. The link is to screen shots of the Contents showing each of the 8 sections, the instructions for the worksheet generator, a partially filled out random worksheet, a sample/simple/random manor overview map, the instructions for the economic calculator, a shot of the charter generator, and a sample table from the reference section. The link is http://www.dimensionsgamesoftware.com/dimensionsgamesoftware/id31.html
