[MEG PR]Player's Advantage: Rogue

I think once you see this book you will find there is no padding, it is all useful material, and that it is not simply another splat book. It may not contain everything you are suggesting above but it is a really awesome rogue book. I will get the Author to come here and talk more about it.

Why not show us a little excerpt so that you can shoe us what you mean. I can understand that you are very enthousiastic about the product, but your not exactly impartial ;-) By showing us a page or three we would get a better understanding of the product and how it's different from other splat books and why we should also stock this splatbook and not just try to sell another copy of Path of Shadow (which is twice as big, is hardcover, and is only $5 more expensive). Ok, it is probably v.3.5 and Epic compatible, but other than that?

That is one of the reasons I want to come by and take a look. I'm a very harsh critic for games. Being a game store, I don't have to wait for my FLGS to stock something or beg them to get something for me. If I want something, I walk the distributor warehouse and take a look at stuff.

Honestly, Mystic Eye Games has not put out anything I particularly wanted, but "The Deep" and this "Rogues" book are right up my alley.

Sorry my initial reaction is "What another splat-book?" I can't help but think this particular niche market has been done to death already.

I wish you well but I also wish you'd come up with a different sort of niche...
:)

I think that the Rogue is one of those jack-of-all-trades sort of class. With all the skill points, there are many different ways to go that don't include theft, assassination, or subterfuge. As mentioned before, I own FFG's Path of Shadow and they do some really interesting things. It really opened my eyes to the types of things you can do with the Rogue Class.

I think that this particular Rogue book will do more of the same.

If this book were a Fighter book, then I'd agree with you about being another splatbook. The D20 system is not suited to a million varieties of chopping up monsters.

I would have also said this about Sorcerers too, but Dragon #311 with the "Sorcerer Domains" and the Spell Templates could make for some really interesting books.

What I hope to see is some new legendary classes. FFG made it open but thus far, only Ambient in their Archer's book had another Legendary Class.
I haven't done any Legendary classes because I'm not enamoured by the mechanics of the class. I also don't own any FFG books (though, true is, I've meant to buy a few, Path books mostly, Midnight maybe) so I only know the implementation from a preview PDF.

My 3.5 updates for JBoE will have Epic stuff though.

We are going to do just that but first we are working on one for The Deep which will be up soon. Hopefully this week.
