What? No Sea Monkeys!

In my undersea campaign, I have "shrimpies", which are small humanoid shrimp, and kliklik, a type of humanoid lobster.

I also have a sea monk PrC....just because. And dare I mention the titanic krill? ;)

If I had to include a creature called a sea monkey, I would most likely use Barnum's Feejee Mermaid for inspiration.

I played in an underwater game once, had a locathah character for while. It gave me an excuse to make googly eyes at the woman who a couple years later became my wife. :)

Congrats on your find. ;) I met my wife on AOL, when I was still serving up virtual drinks in LaPub.

I added the garibaldi, a half-locathah, in my undersea game. I started wondering what would have happened in "Creature from the Black Lagoon", if the gill-man had gotten away with the girl, so I devised the garibaldi (named for the fish, NOT the character in B5).

On a side note, the garibaldi is the state fish of California. I live in NC, where the state fish, the red drum/channel bass, is also a marine species. Alabama has the tarpon, Florida has the sailfish, and Hawaii has the rectangular triggerfish. Every other state has a freshwater species for their state fish.

Hey, thanks...it's worked out well enough that now (a bit over 12 1/2 years after we met) we have a 21 month old son.

Perhaps the B5 character was named after the fish? As in "drinks like a..." (ok, that's mean...sorry!)

You are, with out a doubt, the font of all fish knowledge and strange seafood trivia. :)

I take that as a compliment ;)

Ever find it odd, that to shoot the state bird is a crime, but to eat the state fish is expected?

Heh - this just reminded me of Lobstora, the giant lobster that killed Divine in John Water's Multiple Maniacs.

And that really has nothing to do with anything here I suppose... :)
