Mystic Eye

The Eye of the Storm

Some hinted, some speculated, some already thought it happened...Mystic Eye Games and Thunderhead Games are pleased to announce they are merging into one company! Mystic Eye Games has bought Thunderhead Games and is taking the award-nominated team with them. Thunderhead Games will become a line of products for Mystic Eye Games. This buy out will let Mystic Eye Games double the previous years production with no loss in time, while allowing Thunderhead to keep producing the same lines and items but under the Mystic Eye Games logo. This is a very exciting time for both companies and the "new" MEG will now be a solid force in the gaming industry.

Hal Greenberg, former CEO of Thunderhead Games now Vice President of Marketing and Art Director of Mystic Eye Games LLC, states "This was a dream come true. Doug (Mystic Eye Games, President) has been a friend and a confidant from the start, to be working with him in an official capacity and help run a leader in the RPG industry like Mystic Eye Games, how could I say no. This lets us team up and do what we do best, it really is a well made team that is already comfortable with each other and sharing a lot of freelancers already."

Doug Herring, President of Mystic Eye Games LLC, says "The purchase of Thunderhead Games and the fantastic additions of Hal and Jim can only strengthen our position in the industry. I believe that consolidation and awesome partnerships are the key to survival in the ever-growing d20 marketplace and beyond. We have been a sleeping giant growing slow and steady in the market until our recent explosive growth. It has been, and is our goal to bring you the very best products for d20 and beyond. Adding the team from TG will enhance our product line greatly."

With Jim Govreau continuing to lead the charge on the TG line, you can expect the same award- nominated products from them and continued production as if there was no change at all to TG other than a more aggressive release schedule. The same goes for the award-nominated Hunt: Rise of Evil line that will be headed up by Andrew Thompson the co-author of this world setting.

The new MEG is comprised of:
Doug Herring- President
Hal Greenberg-Vice President of Marketing and Art Director for all of MEG
Jim Govreau- Director of the Thunderhead Games brand
Andrew Thompson- Director and lead writer for The Hunt: Rise of Evil campaign setting

The purchase of Thunderhead Games is one of many growing stages that MEG has accomplished in the last year, having imprint partners Ambient Inc, Natural 20 Press, and newly announced Vigilance Press, plus non role-playing games printed such as the brand new hit Giant Monster Rampage. This new and bigger MEG is also producing adventures for the d20 award- nominated hit Dragonstar, a science-fantasy role-playing game that Fantasy Flight Games is producing. You can expect to see two licensed adventure titles for Dragonstar soon, these are Raw Recruits and Heart of the Machine.

Due to the merger, the "new" MEG and partners have received a total of 8 Ennie nominations with 3 honorable mentions (3 nominations for Mystic Eye Games with 2 HM, 3 nominations for Thunderhead Games, and 2 nominations and 1HM for MEG’s imprint partner Ambient Inc). This is a true testament to our potential.

MEG will be at booth 1252 at Gen Con. See the new MEG with all 6 new products and some convention copies of upcoming releases.

A new release schedule featuring all of the products from MEG, TG, and our imprint partners will be available soon. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Osseum Entertainment for details on our future releases. They can be reached at: Info@Osseum.com.

Congrats!

It certainly is an interesting time in the d20 biz. The Mystic Eye appears to be zapping every company in sight with some sort of "join us or die" eyebeam! The combined potential of both companies will be something to watch in the future. Congratulations again to all involved!!

That's great news - good luck to all of you!

One question, though... who do the ENnies go to now if you win? ;)

Now this is an interesting twist. Does this mean that we'll see more of Bluffside in The Hunt as well as other upcoming settings that were slatted from Thunderhead? It should also make tying in any Dragonstar adventurers a little easier.

Another benefit is all the postage you'll save sending me review copies! :D

congrats

Congratulations on the merger of the two companies...I've enjoyed the products that you put out. However, I must ask, as I've a vested interested...what does this mean for the relationship with the FaNCC?

I can not speak for the entire entity, but I still want to continue the THG relationship with the FANCC. Even though Doug zapped us with his eye ray, he still allowed us to retain our own unique flavor. I will bring this up and hopefully have an answer soon.

Jim is in charge of the line and I cannot personally see any reason to change the relationship with the FANCC. Jim and Hal have always worked with you all so why change that now.

It is ultimately up to Jim on this one so what ever he chooses to do is fine with me. My guess is nothing will change.
