Mega Adventures

I recall reading some months back somewhere on these boards that WotC is returning to the creation of mega-adventures. I don't see any on the product list, though, so what gives?

Could you be thinking of the Dungeon Adventure Path hardcover?

Why would WotC making adventures be bad? I've actually been disappointed that they've gotten away from the good adventures and fluffy stuff in favor of books that stay crunchy on the inside.

Adventures are no9t bad, mega adventures are. So far they have been short on plot, and huge dungeon crawls, big boring dungeon crawls. So, I'm all for modules but not the mega ones.

An Idea that I had the other day was Adventure Flows, each adventure has a few possible outcomes, modules are published for the each but the DM can pick the next module based on the direction his game took. Together the modules would make a mega adventure but the DM only would purchase the parts he needed/wanted. I just don't see it working well. :\

This is a great idea!

However, As a DM I would like to read the results of all the possible outcomes, to be better prepared. So I would be willing to purchase a Mega adventure based on this design. It's true I would be buying large portions of adventures that would not be used, but still it is worth it.

Unfortunately, your last statement is correct. It's simply not financially viable. After all, you're talking about a line of products with a built-in depletion of the market. As the line progresses, you have to publish a greater number of "option books" for an ever-decreasing audience.

I love the idea in theory, but it's simply not practical in application.
