Mega Block Dragons

How big are the minifigs? Comparable in size to lego?
I know megablocks and lego are interchangeable, but what about the minifigs? :)

Yeah, more or less. A Bit... um... broader, at the shoulders... and unlike Lego, Megablock has never used a "standardized" figure religiously... instead of just painting on little lines to represent different outfits, like lego does, Megablock actualy sculpts entirely new figures for each thing... so they actualy DO look like they are wearing platemail/chainmail/scalemale, and carring weapons and stuff.

Of course, if you happen to have several of the lego "Knights" or "Castle" series, all the better! Extra props and weapons (I think the "hands" are the same size, from a quick visual inspection). Because, while the sets include Shields, Axes, Hammers, Staves, and Spears... I've yet to see a sword.

The sets are far more... detailed... than lego. Some of the workmanship nearly rivals Dwarven Stones for quality :D. The little castle wall sections are very nice looking. As well, the actualy bricks (all seem to be 2x4... the standard lego "brick") are actualy rounded around the edges, so that when they are put together, they actualy look like stone walls. And they come with a number of extra... things. Campfires, torches, stone "statues", siege weaponry (that actualy works... woo!)... horses...

Wow Tsyr! You sound enthused. Is the Wizard Gate set as nice looking as the pictures make it out to be? That was the set that looked the most useful to me scenery wise.

Yeah... It really does look pretty good. It is clearly a "ruin" though... you can't "rebuild" the gate, it always will look run down, with a stone missing... but it's quite detailed.

Another note on the dragon: All told, if you were to get all the sets, you would have five dragons... Blue, Black, Green, Red, and Gold. Not bad, eh? Even better, the horns and teeth are black, not the normal "bone" color... that's a Good Thing (TM) for me, 'cause I've been obsessed with having black dragon bones ever since I read A Song of Ice and Fire. :)

See, I'm a lego nut though... any thing with lego peices (or megablock... same thing really) is interesting to me. I've got tubs full of bricks... got LegoCAD programs for the computer... make gadgets out of legos... etc etc.

I had already noticed that. That was what sold me on the Dragon Slayer as soon as I saw it, the fact that I might want to use a green dragon soon and while red and black dragons are fairly easy to find, I hardly ever see a decent green dragon.

Though I was thinking one of the dragons looked silver not gold.

Well... There is one in the pictures that looks greyish, but I'm assuming its supposed to be a black dragon... maybe it's a Swack Iron dragon?

The Sorcerer's Lair has an interesting feature. It comes with a dragon that has a jeweled stone set into his chest. If you take out the stone and place it on the runed stone three of the runes will glow. When you touch the three runes in a certain order a secret compartment slowly opens to reveal a hidden magical staff!

Very cool stuff.
