Megahuck

Lonely Tylenol

Can anyone point me to the rules that determine how heavy an object you can throw? I couldn't find anything except the improvised weapon rules, which don't cover weight of thrown objects. How do I find out whether I can I throw this barrel? I can lift it, but is it too heavy to chuck?

Bonus points if you can identify the origin of the thread title.

Consider: Warhulks gain the ability to throw a 50lb rock. Warhulk is a 10-level PRC that requires you to be large or larger, and gives a +2 Str bonus every level. They gain this ability a couple levels into the PRC.
Consider: Giants don't have a listed weight for their rock throwing abilities.
Note, however, that the range increment is much greater for the giants than the warhulks- indicative of rocks that are easier to throw.

I would perhaps say that if it's an unwieldy object, such as a barrel, the range increment is load divided by object weight, times 30ft, minimum 5ft.

Rules are in Complete Warrior page 159 covers damage of improvised weapons by weight.

Table goes like this
<2lb->1d3
2lb-5lb->1d4
6lb-10lb->1d6
11lb-25lb->1d8
26lb-50lb->2d6
51lb-100lb->3d6
101lb-200lb->4d6
201lb-400lb->5d6

+1d6 per 200 pounds above 400
Objects in first category are treated as light, in second as one-handed, in third as 2-handed
Range increment 10 ft as improvised weapons.
Without the special traits of the Warhulk or Hulking Hurler class I don't think you can use an object of larger than your own size category as a thrown weapon.

These are also the source of the Hulking Hurler's huge damage output.

Hmmm, if you're going to be megahucking stuff, I better stay in my HoL.

wins the thread.

Also, thanks HeavenShallBurn. I knew about the damage table, but I didn't know that there was a weight -> category rule in there. That's exactly what I was looking for.
