MEG's Urban Blight -- your thoughts wanted

Thanks, Xarlen. This does seem like it was hit or miss among the varied locales. As mentioned earlier, Urban Blight was cobbled together from many different authors and I would attribute this kind of problem to that. I think this can be easily corrected for Beyond the Walls.

And it looks like I am guilty of this even with "Flavour Country", in which a real description isn't given until the "Location Details" portion while the EL stuff is in "Brief Description." Thanks again for the feedback!

Well, a nice little summery at the beginning would've been doable. True it was a cobbling together, but it could've been stuck in, after the authors got all that piled in.

But, it looks like a Good Product. I gotta ask thoug, I remember there being a preview, at one point, of a dark Art Gallery. Which one is that?

Note I just thumbed through this in the store (The reason I was complaining about the lack of section summeries ;)).

I just got it a few days ago so have not had a chance to read it completely. What I have read I really like though. I read the Travelstead Library and will definately include it in my campaign after some window dressing to make it work.

I also read Sar-Ra-Tu's Gaming House. I have been thinking of creating a gambling den and will probably use it as a basis for that work.

Tomb of Amir-Hamma is probably going into my encounter/location file when I need something quick and easy to base a story around.

My favorite I saved for last: The Shard. This one is almost worth the cost of the book alone for me. I am already planning on fleshing out Loren Shart as a central NPC for my campaign. The idea of making my PC's need Shart's help and knowing the truth about him will just make their skin crawl everytime they hit a dead end and have to go to him for something.

If the rest of the book is like the above sections, I am hooked! Good work guys.

Xarlen: I'm not sure which one had the art gallery. I'll have to check my book later and get back to you.

mikey: Glad you found some goodies in there without even reading everything yet. Places like a gambling den aren't something you find in every product and is probably a good selling point.

Hey, this thread's getting noticed a bit more! Keep it up! :)

I just remembered this question and thumbed through the book. There doesn't appear to be a dark art gallery, Xarlen. I must say it's a pretty cool idea though! ;)

And I guess one could consider this a bump, but I'd never admit it.

I *know* I saw a prieview, somewhere, that mentioned a dark Art gallery. I don't know where, but it gave 'previews' of a page or two. Hrm...

And, any possibility that people could submit stuff for Beyond the Walls? :)

Officially, any submission requests should go to Doug at MEG.

Unofficially, I guess I can say that there is a core team of three (more or less) writers working on the rest of the Foul Locales line. I would not rule out the possibility of others providing web enhancements or, if a submission is particularly good, who knows...? Anyway, I'm going to refer you to the head honcho before I get into trouble.

Thanks again for your comments.
