I was a minor public figure in the jurisdiction in which I lived from 1993-2000. Still, when I lost my old job (the public figure job), it did make the front page of one of our daily papers two days in a row and was the back page of section A of the other one.

I was more at the level of someone newspaper political columnists wrote about a couple of times a year.

I've never met Vin, and I've certainly never been his 'character'....

Of course, if poor Melkor really isn't Vin Diesel, and is just a mild-mannered "graphic designer" like his profile says, then I feel sorry for all the pointed accusations people are going to be making about him.

Of course, if you ARE Vin Diesel, I think you should just admit it. It's not like we know where you live, or even have your email address. No reason why you can't continue to post, and ask us questions about your game, or your Oriental Adventures conversion like you've been doing. I mean, to us, you're no more a celebrity than Gary Gygax, who posts here frequently.

So what would your take on Melkor, Vin Diesel's character, be?

He's obviously a munchkin. I mean, come on - MELKOR? The ultimate Evil Valar? The guy whom Sauron himself served? The guy who could command a host of Balrogs? The guy who stole the Silmarils? The guy who admittedly DID have a tough time with Ungoliant? I bet he's nicknamed his character "Morgoth" or something.

Obviously Vin is very much on a power trip. Who was his DM? Tolkien must be spinning in his grave.
