Membership & Scholarship Committees Needed

Hello,

Better World Roleplaying, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is looking for volunteers to develop our scholarship program. The scholarship will be for educators who are returning to college for a Masters or an Ed.D and who can demonstrate that they have successfully used (and plan to keep using!) roleplaying (including RPGs) in the classroom as an educational tool. The scholarship committee will not be responsible for funding, however, they will need to develop the process by which BWR advertises, selects, awards, and maintains its scholarships.

We are also looking for a few volunteers to be on the Membership Committee to help us prepare for our first membership drive at the 2003 Gen Con. This committee will be responsible for developing the process by which BWR gains, maintains, and grows its membership.

If you are interested in volunteering please contact me at:

I'd never heard about this before, but it's so interesting and cool that I will ignore the possibility that this is a wishful troll, and trust that yes, there are people out there who appreciate the uses of roleplaying.

See, now I'm going to have to try to get a master's degree just so I can get this scholarship. :)

Ya. It's real. Damned cool, ain't it? We are also working on a program to train educators to do two things: communicate supportively to students and parents *and* DM an educational game. IMO, we can develop educational RPGs until we are blue in the face, however, they won't work if the people running the games have no idea how to truly inspire their students and the community around them.
