I started when I was 16. My sister and brother were my first players. They were 4 and 13 at the time. Neither of them play anymore but my sister would still like too.

My kids are 7, 4 and newborn. My oldest is pretty much could handle playing in my group as is.

I started playing when I was 14, now I'm 17. I taught my little brother when he was 9. He even was the DM once or twice. Theres nothing like D&D run by a 9 year old. :)

At the school where I teach (and run the D&D club), the cutoff age seems to be 8th grade (that's about age 13 for you non-Yanks out there). Younger than that, and the number juggling and bookkeeping seems to overwhelm them.

I started at age 12, but I'd already been doing tabletop mini wargaming for 3 years before that.

I started playing when I was 14, now i'm 16 but I can't get a group.

Try looking and/or posting in the Forums here: you'd be surprised what kind of turnout you'll get.

I've been playing since I was 9 (I'm 32 now.)
My interest has waxed and waned over the years, but I'm still playing. :p

I got started with the red D+D basic box (which I still have.): I remember being run through "The Keep of the Borderlands" and getting throoughly trounced by the minoutaurs. :D
